  5. If you always wanted a super high-performance modem but couldn't

  7. PM14400FXSA V.32bis stand-alone combines the benefits of the
  8. latest high-speed modem and fax technologies into a single,
  9. economical, space-saving 3" x 5" x 10" package.   You'll be

  13. Besides the ability to send and receive faxes at high speeds,
  14. this full duplex 14400bps modem can achieve data throughput up to
  15. a blazing 57,600bps using V.42 error correction and V.42bis data
  16. compression.  The modem supports CCITT V.32 and V.32bis,
  17. providing optimal data transmission speeds over common telephone
  18. lines.  To ensure maximum throughput and avoid data loss due to
  19. changing line conditions, speed adjusts automatically at
  20. 14,400bps with fallback to 12,000, 9600, 7200 or 4800bps.

  22. In addition to ten multicolored LEDs, this high-performance fax
  23. modem provides a unique 12-character backlit LCD for real-time
  24. status on modem operation.  The modem also offers secondary dial
  25. tone detection, a programmable speaker and non-volatile storage
  26. of four telephone numbers up to 36 digits each.

  28. When placing a credit card telephone call, the calling card
  29. prompt tone (bong) from the telephone service indicates readiness
  30. to accept a credit card number for billing purposes.  The
  31. PM14400FXSA V.32bis can easily be programmed to transmit the
  32. appropriate credit card identification sequence after the "bong."
  33. The modem can also translate alphanumeric telephone numbers
  34. (i.e.; 1-800-GOMODEM) to their numerical equivalent.  These
  35. features allow users to take advantage of time-saving utilities
  36. offered on popular personal organizer software.

  39. files showing all commands and an on-line session screen which
  40. gives information on link statistics and connection details.

  60. transmissions can be performed entirely in the background while
  61. using other DOS applications.  FastFax IV (tm) allows you to send
  62. laser-quality faxes from any DOS application by simply printing
  63. (complete set of soft fonts included).  You don't even need to
  64. leave your DOS program.  The NiteFax (tm) feature allows printing
  65. of incoming fax messages automatically in the background on most
  66. printers.

  69. delayed transmission to take advantage of lower nighttime phone
  70. rates and the ability to easily broadcast faxes to a list of
  71. remote locations.  Quick Link II can handle a variety of file
  72. formats including ASCII (text), PCX and DCX (PC Paintbrush), TIFF
  73. (scanner), IMG (GEM or Ventura Publisher), BMP (Windows), CUT
  74. (Dr. Halo), MacPaint and WordPerfect document files.
